Guided Payload Recovery

Example from Airborne Systems

SFU Rocketry is developing a never-before-seen technology in Canada - the Guided Payload Recovery descent system. Aimed at solving uncontrollable and unpredictable landing of high altitude payloads, our system will enable precise landing coordinates and controllable, gentle descent of an autonomous parachute payload chain. This system will be used with all High Altitude Payload and mid-sizedCOTS Rocket launches.

The Payload Recovery system will first fly onboard the High Altitude Payload Gen-II - a flight control payload that will be launched into the stratosphere onboard a high-altitude balloon.

Completion & Launch: August 2024
